What the Ladybird Heard!

We have really enjoyed this book!

We have become very good at using the story props to retell the story.

We were keen to catch Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len so we dressed up as Police officers!

We made our own police 'walkie talkies' and used them in the police station role play.  Where there were lots of opportunities for language development and mark making.

Garden Shop

Following on from enjoying Jack and the Beanstalk there was lots of interest in digging and planting. Through observing children's play we noticed that there was a shop starting to form so we made our own garden shop!

There has been lots of opportunities to practise using numbers in real contexts and develop our language skills.

Investigating the snow!

On Monday we were lucky enough to have some snow to explore in the Nursery learning garden.

The Gingerbread Man

We have enjoyed the story of the Gingerbread man and especially enjoyed making our own gingerbread men!

In the construction area the challenge was to find a way for the Gingerbread man to cross the river so that he would not get wet or eaten by the fox.

We built bridges and made boats!
