Diamond Jubilee Picnic

Nursery celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by having a picnic.  We made our own sandwiches and decorated the outside area with flags and paper chains (which allowed us to practise 3 colour repeated colours!).  It was lots of fun!

What the Ladybird Heard!

We have really enjoyed this book!

We have become very good at using the story props to retell the story.

We were keen to catch Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len so we dressed up as Police officers!

We made our own police 'walkie talkies' and used them in the police station role play.  Where there were lots of opportunities for language development and mark making.

Garden Shop

Following on from enjoying Jack and the Beanstalk there was lots of interest in digging and planting. Through observing children's play we noticed that there was a shop starting to form so we made our own garden shop!

There has been lots of opportunities to practise using numbers in real contexts and develop our language skills.

Jack and the Beanstalk

For the next couple of weeks our learning will be based around the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.

Look how much we enjoyed watching the story come to life!
We enjoyed helping Jack to chop down the beanstalk!
